Purchasing Firearms Online

Defense Direct sells firearms, ammo and related items only in accordance with Federal, State, and Local firearm laws.

In order to Purchase Firearms Online:

You must be 18 or older to purchase long guns and 21 or older to purchase hand guns. Check your local & state laws. You are responsible for knowing and understanding your local laws and ordinances.

You must complete the following steps before your firearm can be transferred to you.

•   Verify that the product(s) you wish to purchase from Defense Direct meet your state, county, or city firearm laws.
•   Once you have completed your firearm purchase online you will receive an order confirmation e-mail.
⋅  If you do not receive an email order status update within two business days after placing your order, please give us a call at 636.940.1530
•   Find a local (to you) Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) that will accept the transfer of the firearm on your behalf. This can be your local Gun Shop, Pawn Shop, Gun Range or any other location that holds a current FFL and will help you with your transaction.
⋅  Following are a few web sites that can assist you in locating FFL’s in your area. Note, we do not specifically endorse or suggest the use of any particular FFL. It is the buyers sole responsibility to determine the FFL best suited to their needs:

⋅  Please note, most FFLs do charge a modest fee for this service…and that is exactly what it is…a service.
•   Once you have determined the FFL for your end of the transaction have them email (preferred), fax or mail us a copy of their Federal Firearms License.
⋅  Please ensure your name and order number are on any correspondence provided to us.
⋅  License information or correspondence may be sent to the following address:

1. Once your FFL holder receives your firearm, they will ask you to fill out the required background check paperwork and will perform the background check as per Federal and any other required regulations. This “usually” takes only a few minutes, but depending on workload, technical glitches, or other forces in the federal government, it could take a bit longer, so please be patient with them! Assuming your FFL receives the OK from the FBI to proceed and you have paid your FFL for the transfer service, you will (can you say FINALLY!?!?!?) be able to take possession of your purchase….Congratulations!!

***Important: **** Upon arrival at your FFL, inspect your firearm to make certain that everything is acceptable before filling out the necessary paperwork. Once the transfer of the firearm is complete, the manufacturer's warranty is then in effect and from that point on any complications with the firearm will have to be handled by the manufacturer.
